摘要 PURPOSE:To make the images of small-sized video equipment and projection type video equipment easy to see by irradiating a screen surface with light from a light source which is passed through an image part through the lens cut of a lens plate to the pitch width of the lens cut. CONSTITUTION:When the parallel irradiation light (s) from the light source reaches a liquid crystal display device 1 where the image part 2 is partitioned longitudinally and laterally by non-image parts 3 at specific pitches, the light passes through only image parts 2 in a nontransmission state. The pattern of the passing irradiation light (s) is an image pattern on a display surface constituted by the driving of the respective image parts 2. When the image parts 2a - 2f are in a transmission state, irradiation light beams (a) - (f) passes through them in the same pattern with said pattern. Then irradiation light which is made incident on the lens plate 4 is diffused and the diffused irradiation light beams A - F irradiate the screen surface when diffused to the pitch width of the lens cut of the lens plate 4 to serve as picture elements while arrayed closely, thereby constituting an image. Consequently, the appearance of the non-image part pattern of the small-sized video equipment and projection type video equipment is evaded.
