PURPOSE:To arbitrarily clean the head without removing the cover, cutting or removing a recording medium by providing means for separating electrodes and the head, a reciprocating mechanism inserted between the separated electrodes and head over the head, and a member mounted on the mechanism to rub the head surface. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium 1 is so raised as not to be brought into contact with a cleaning mechanism 5 by a guide roller 2. Thus, a back electrode 4 is so raised as not to be brought into contact with the medium by a support 6. Then, after the medium 1 and the electrode 4 are moved to correct positions the mechanism reciprocates between both ends of a head 3. This mechanism has a sliding mechanism between a roller holder 8 and a body, a nut is mounted partly at a roller support 8, a screw to be engaged with the nut is rotated by a motor to polish the head surface to clean it. |
