PURPOSE:To eliminate the transmission loss by providing such a jig that the deep part length of a linear recessed groove part and the height of a linear projection part are nearly equal to the half-value width of the long diameter of the rectangle of rectangularly sectioned optical fibers which are stacked in array and a pressing jig which has a function for pressing stacked optical fibers from above and below. CONSTITUTION:The rectangularly sectioned linear recessed groove part 11 and linear projection part 12 provided to receiving teeth 9-1 and pressing-in teeth 9-2 fit each other, the width R of the recessed groove part of the jig is equal to the short-diameter value of the sectional rectangle of the rectangularly sectioned multifilament type optical fiber, its deep part length or projection height (m) is equal to the half-value width of the long diameter of the sectional rectangle of the multifilament type optical fiber. Consequently, rectangularly sectioned optical fibers can accurately be stacked and arrayed without any gap. The jigs b-1 and b-2 can be fitted in the receiving teeth 9-1 and pressing-in teeth 9-2 to press the stacked fiber in the closest packing state. Consequently, transmission loss caused by the mutual engagement of respective single multifilament optical fibers is eliminated. |
