<p>An image signal processing device for processing an image signal composed of signals of odd-number and even-number fields is arranged: to separate a synchronizing signal included in the image signal; to generate, on the basis of the separated synchronizing signal, a period designating signal for designating a first period which includes a change-over point between the odd-number and even-number fields and a synchronizing signal part which is phase-locked to a part of the synchronizing signal included in the image signal for a period other than the first period; and to replace a synchronizing signal part included, within the synchronizing signal, in the image signal for the first period designated by the period designating signal with the generated synchronizing signal part. This arrangement enables the device to output the image signal with the synchronizing signal included in the image signal retaining the continuity of its phase and without any jitters or the like. <IMAGE></p> |
