The machine for forming a tunnel and through which the debris is removed, is also combined with a tunnel lining system. Between the cutting head and the feed and delivery conveyors at the rear, is a horizontal cylinder (18). This is supported by guide channels (19) each side enclosed by an outer tube (30). Around this, mounted on rollers (32) is a further tube (31) carrying a manipulating arm (28) used to install tunnel lining ring segments. The channels (19) extend beyond the ends of the inner cylinder for attachment to end support. The inner cylinder is divided into longitudinal compartments from end to end. It houses a conveyor. The outer tube carries supporting platforms for securing the ring segments. |
