PURPOSE:To realize the wavelength multiplex optical network in which an allowable transmission loss is taken large by providing a demultiplexing means, an optical receiver and a multiplexing means to the network. CONSTITUTION:An optical signal subjected to wavelength multiplex is inputted to a demultiplexer/multiplexer 2 of each node. The demultiplexer/multiplexer 2 is integration of sections 2-2-2-9 having wavelength selectivity on an optical waveguide 2-1, the left half 2-2-2-5 of the demultiplxer/multiplexer 2 act like a demultiplexer demultiplexing optical signals whose wavelengths are lambda1-lambdan and the right half 2-6-2-9 act like a demultiplexer inputting the optical signals whose wavelengths are lambda1-lambdan to the optical waveguide similarly. Since all the input of the optical signal is not distributed but each wavelength is demultiplexed, a distribution loss being a problem when the optical distributer is in use is not caused. Thus, the allowable transmission loss is increased. |
