<p>PURPOSE:To lighten the tape traveling load and to lower the power consumption and then to achieve the reproducing for a long time by providing a mechanism for feeding a tape at high speed and for stopping the tape under two modes of the tape loading state and the tape unloading state and a control means. CONSTITUTION:The device is equipped with a brake control means 7 for controlling releasing and working a brake upon a reel base, a mode control means 4 for controlling a 1st loading stopping means, a 1st high speed tape feed means, a 2nd unloading stopping means and a 2nd high speed tape feed means and a tape driving means 8 for feeding the tape. Then, at the time of a high speed search for reading out data on the tape by a rotary head, the tape is fed and stopped in a 1st tape loading position, and at the time of rewinding the tape to its beginning, the tape is fed and stopped in a 2nd tape loading position. By this method, the tape traveling load is lightened, and the power consumption is lowered, and then the reproducing for a long time is achieved.</p> |
