METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THERMOFORMING THIN WALL RESIN PRODUCT

PURPOSE:To contrive the improvement of the utilizing and shaping efficiency of material and the reduction of the size of a device by a method wherein a blank having the contour conforming to product is formed from a sheet-like thermoplastic resin, supplied to a metal die cavity and shaped into the product by heating with its contour retained. CONSTITUTION:Cavities 20 are formed in the peripheral surface of a metal die drum 10 and each cavity is capable of holding a blank 2 to itself by suction. A supply device 31 takes out the blank 2 one by one and supplies it to the cavity 20 in a supply stage 1A to be held thereby and a heater 32 heats successively the blanks 2 held on the cavities 20 in a heating stage 1B in order to plasticize them. A plug 33 is inserted into the cavity 20 in a shaping stage 1C to force the blank 2 therein, so that it is formed into the shape of a container 3. A takeoff device 34 receives successively the container 3 removed from the cavity 20 in a takeoff stage 1D and lays them one upon another. A control device causes the metal die drum 10 to rotate intermittently to send each cavity 20 individually to stage 1A-1D so as to actuate devices 31-34 synchronously therewith.
