PURPOSE:To detect a variation in a current by a contained timer and to eliminate a timer and its operation by detecting variation in a power source consumption current of a first apparatus generated when the power source of the first apparatus is turned ON, OFF in a second apparatus, and controlling ON, OFF the power source of the second apparatus based on the detection signal. CONSTITUTION:If a VTR is turned ON based on setting of a timer, power source consumption current to the VTR is greatly increased to exceed a reference level, and the signal output of a current detector 6 is largely increased. This detection signal is processed by a current/voltage converter 8, an A/D converter 10, and supplied to a controller 11. The controller 11 turns ON a non-preheating power source 5 based on signals from the converter 10 and a monitor 9, and a BS tuner 1 starts a designating operation. Here, the tuner 1 becomes a receiving state, and a VTR 15 becomes an image recording state. |
