PURPOSE: To improve vacuum evacuation efficient by incorporating a respectively specific binder and a mat agent in a mat layer. CONSTITUTION: Two photographic elements, at least one of which is constituted of a supporting body and the mat layer consisting of a mat particle and the polymer binder thereon as an outermost layer facing the surface of another element, are arranged side by side and the gap between the elements is evacuated. And the smaller quantity of the binder than 1.08g/m<2> and the sufficient quantity of the mat agent having the sufficient average particle diameter to form the outermost layer having the measured roughness value in excess of 1.00μinch (0.0254μm) in Ra stipulated by ANSI standard B46. 1 1985 are incorporated in the mat layer. As a result, the efficiency of vacuum evacuating method is improved.
