PURPOSE:To speed up an operation by providing an optical erasing circuit which does not convert the wavelength of input light, but converts the wavelength into wavelength different from wavelength converted by a light wavelength converting element when the intensity of the input light is less than a specific value and then output the light, and outputting both the light from the light wavelength converting element and the light from the optical erasing circuit together. CONSTITUTION:The above device is equipped with the light wavelength converting element 12 which converts the wavelength of the input light and outputs the light when the intensity of the input light exceeds the specific value, the optical erasing circuit 13 which erases the input light when the other light beam is inputted from an optical joining and branching circuit 11 and its intensity exceeds the specific value and does not convert the wavelength of the input light, but converts it to wavelength difference from the wavelength converted by the light wavelength converting element 12 and outputs it when the intensity is less than the specific value, and an optical joining circuit 14 which adds and outputs the light from the light wavelength converting element 12 and the light from the optical erasing circuit 13. Consequently, the light signal wavelength conversion device of simple constitution which suits for high-speed operation is obtained. |
