PURPOSE:To prevent a diffusion sheet from separating a liquid crystal owing to heat generated by the illumination of a light source and to prevent display characteristic from deteriorating by inserting a transparent plate which supports the diffusion sheet into the gap between the diffusion sheet and a linear Fresnel prism. CONSTITUTION:The transparent plate 9 is inserted into the gap between the diffusion sheet 4 provided on the reverse surface of a liquid crystal panel and the linear Fresnel prism plate 5. The tubular light source 7 is applied with a voltage by a turning-on device to emit light with specific brightness and the light passes through light guide plate 6, the linear Fresnel prism plate 5, and a transparent plate 9 and is diffused by the diffusion sheet 4 and modulated by the liquid crystal panel 1 to display a pattern. The heat generated by the tubular light source 7 is conducted to the liquid crystal panel 1 through the light guide plate 6, linear Fresnel prism plate 5, transparent plate 9, and diffusion sheet 4 to cause the diffusion sheet 4 to deform, but the transparent plate 9 prevents the diffusion sheet 4 from separating from the liquid crystal panel 1. |
