The present invention relates to an article of luggage (1) made from leather, or a similar material, including a flap (2) which can be held against an outer wall (3) of the said luggage (1) by means of a closure device (5) of the type including a plate (6) fixed on the edge of the flap (2) and a lock body (7) fastened on the said wall (3). The said plate (6) and the said lock body (7) are arranged edge-to-edge and connected by locking means (8).
