The invention relates to an electrostatic assistance device for the design of book sections, exercise books and the like equipped with a plurality of sheets which are superimposed and arise from the cutting of a multi-layer strip (web), comprising two induction electrodes located, respectively, on either side of the said multi-layer strip. This electrostatic assistance device is characterised in that each of the said induction electrodes (7, 8) is powered by a separate high voltage DC generator (11, 12), one of which delivers an electrostatic charge of opposite sign from the other, these high voltage generators (11, 12) being connected to common regulating means (13) able to determine the power delivered by each of these generators (11, 12) whilst making sure that the total of powers set on both is not greater than the nominal power of one of these generators (11, 12).
