PURPOSE:To obviate an exclusive charger by providing at least one of a plurality of driving coils for a motor vehicle with an electromagnetically coupled charging coil connected with an external AC power supply, rectifying the AC power induced in the driving coil and charging a battery. CONSTITUTION:Driving coils 61a, 61b wound around the cores 50a, 50b of a stator 50 are connected through a switching means 25 with a battery 52 thus driving a rotor 51. Charging coils 53a, 53b are disposed on the outside of the driving coils 61a, 61b so that they are induction coupled with the driving coils 61a, 61b and connected through a switching means 18 with external power supply terminals 60a, 60b. At the time of charging operation, the switching means 25 connects one end of the driving coil 61a to a rectifying element 67 and the external power supply terminals 60a, 60b to an external AC power supply 56 thus feeding the charging coils 53a, 53b with AC power. AC power induced in the driving coils 61a, 61b through electromagnetic coupling is rectified 67 and charges the battery 52. According to the constitution, dedicated charger is eliminated and the weight is reduced. |
