<p>Prior endeavours of manufacturing a straw plate material of high quality and low price have generally failed, even when the straw material is mixed with an otherwise promising binding agent consisting of a foaming plastic liquid. The invention provides for highly improved results in not mixing the straw material with the binding agent in the normal sense of the word mixing, but injecting the binding agent in the straw layer (6) immediately prior to the same, in a pre-compressed condition, being placed in a rigid pressing tunnel (10) exhibiting the desired plate thickness and adapted so as to resist the expansion pressure that is produced by the subsequent foaming of the binding agent. Hereby the binding agent will also foam itself into the straw material for impregnation thereof, whereby surprisingly good results are achievable without requirements as to any power consuming positive pressing of the material.</p> |
