An injection head for the production of multi-layer mouldings with a core of thermoplastic foam and a skin of solid thermoplastic material has a closure needle with a central opening for a blind bore with a radial opening at the bottom. The tubular insert around the needle has a longitudinal channel which terminates in a radial opening, in register with the first radial opening. A relative turn of the needle can open or close a flow connection between the two openings.
