PURPOSE:To reconfirm the mode setting of a device and to reduce miscopying by carrying out a display for confirming execution to an operator before a front page forming mode is executed, when the number of originals is one. CONSTITUTION:When the front page forming mode is instructed, a guidance display for urging the input of the number of the originals to a display means 35 is carried out to urge the operator to input the number of the originals. After that, when the number of the originals is inputted into an input means 2 and the value of the number of the originals is one, the guidance display for conforming the execution of the front page forming mode is carried out on the display means 35. In other words, when the front page forming mode is instructed, the input of the number of the originals is required, and this image forming device can immediately recognize the number of the originals set by the input of the number of the originals. On the other hand, when the number of the originals is one, the display for confirming the execution is carried out to the operator before the front page forming mode is executed, so that the operator can reconfirm the mode setting of the device at this time.
