PURPOSE:To effectively remove dilute NOX by bringing a removing agent based on a perovskite type compound showing oxygen deficiency at temp. higher than room temp. into contact with NOX-containing gas while holding the removing agent to set temp. higher than room temp. CONSTITUTION:A perovskite type compound having oxygen deficiency at room temp. or higher such as SrFeOX LaCoOX, SrCoOX or BaZrOX (X=1-3) is arranged in the passage of NOX-containing gas in a granular form. This arranged part is held to temp. of about 100-600 deg.C suitable for each compound. When the NOX- containing gas is allowed to flow through the arranged part, purified gas wherein NOX is removed is sent out on the downstream side of the arranged part. Herein, NOX is taken in the oxygen deficient part of the perovskite type compound or this oxygen deficient part strongly attracts N or O to decompose NOX. By this method, even low concn. NOX is effectively removed. |
