<p>A colored fine spherical grain containing a colorant homogeneously dispersed therein, which is produced by reacting an unsaturated polymer with an organic compound having both aldehyde and carboxyl groups in its molecule in the presence of a Lewis or protonic acid to modify the polymer, dissolving and dispersing the modified polymer and a colorant in a polymerizable monomer, and polymerizing the monomer. The obtained grain can be used as a toner for electrostatic image developing as such. A composition prepared by dispersing the obtained grains in a medium can be used as thermal transfer ink and backcoating agent for thermal transfer ink ribbon or magnetic recording medium.</p> |
