<p>A sodium electrode energy conversion device includes a case closed by a closure member. The case and the closure member are sealed together at interfacing surfaces thereof. At least one of the case and the closure member is formed from a composite material comprising a metal substrate and a layer of a metal more ductile than the substrate on at least the interfacing surface of the substrate.
