<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the reluctant abandonment of part of a cell flow by independently performing shaping to virtual channels and virtual passes at every virtual channel so that a previously specified traffic characteristic can be satisfied. CONSTITUTION:At least such a function that suppresses cell accumulation in a buffer in an ATM exchange and makes shaping control to a cell flow in the cell output stage of individual cell processing functions is given to this ATM communication system. Reluctant abandonment of a cell by polishing is prevented by giving a function which shapes a cell flow at every virtual pass and virtual channel at the position where a CSH (Cell Sharer) is provided to the cell processing function at each position constructing an ATN system and controlling the cell flow so that the flow can satisfy its traffic characteristic.</p> |
