Quantitative determination of first and second electro-active gases (I, II) in a medium comprises: exposing the medium to a selective first working electorde which provides a current signal indicating concn. of (I); exposing the medium to a non-selective second working electrode which provides a current signal indicating concn. of (I) + (II); and determining concn. of (I) from the difference between the two signals. Pref. (I) is O2 and (II) is H2.
