An electric cylinder mower (1) for lawns has a flap (9) at the rear which can be raised to make room for a grass box (8) to be hung over the cuttings ejection duct (7). A latch (11) now holds the grass box in position. The flap at the same time closes the opening through which the cuttings can be emptied from the grass box. A transparent window (14) in the centre of the flap lets the user see when the grass box is full. The pref. material for the window is polycarbonate. The entire grass box is made of a lower-cost plastic. ASDVANTAGE This indicates to the user that the grass box needs emptying.
