The invention relates to a stanchion assembly for transport vehicles especially for transporting timber. In view of the constantly increasing price of fuel, the air resistance created by the assembly is further diminished by providing the stanchion profiles (2) and the horizontal beam (1) situated therebetween with apertures (3, 6) for diminishing the negative pressure behind their trailing faces causing the resistance. In the stanchion profiles (2) and horizontal beam (1) having the main shape of an I-beam, the flanges (17) can be constituted of wing profiles in order to effect an air flow directed towards the load space and downwards, respectively. |
