PURPOSE:To considerably improve the flexibility of the recording layer of a recording material and to attain max. absorption at longer wavelength by using water-contg. gel of PVA as part of the material of the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer contg. water-contg. gel of PVA with adsorbed iodine is formed. When PVA gel crystallized at a low temp. is subjected to repeated freezing and thawing or single freezing and slow thawing at 0-10 deg.C, PVA gel having 0.5-95% water content is obtd. This obtd. PVA gel is insoluble in water, is hardly swellable and has superior flexibility. The max. absorption peak of the recording layer shifts to the longer wavelength side, high sensitivity is obtd. and the flexibility can be improved. |
