<p>The invention provides a multi-beam type optical head which generates very little tracking offset caused by a tilted disk or tracking. The principle of operation is as described below. First, a tracking error signal is taken out for a single reading light beam based on the two-spot method and the push-pull method, and the reading light beam is used for controlling the tracking using the tracking error signal based on the above-mentioned two-spot method. Next, the tracking control for the light beams other than the above is effected using both the tracking error signal obtained by the push-pull method and the one obtained by the push-pull method for the reading light beam.</p> |
