For the movement of bar stock (6) within a limited area, overhead cranes or bridge cranes equipped with elongated, horizontally manoeuvred lifting yoke (1), are used to advantage. The load can be comprised of single bars or bundles of bars. According to the invention, the lifting yoke (1) has a number of hydraulically manoeuvrable pairs of claws (12) placed at a distance between each other and designed to grip around the load. Through this the need for padding under the material or between the each of the stacked bars or bundles is eliminated. In relation to the lifting magnets, this is also beneficial partly because non-magnetic and warm materials can be held fast, and partly because lifting occurs in a more secure manner.<IMAGE> |
