Motor vehicle brake signalling equipment - has multiple brake lights illuminated in sequence determined by brake hydraulic pressure

A pressure sensitive detector circuit in a vehicle (1) detects the level of hydraulic pressure in a braking system. A processor (2) provides an output to switching relays which supply electrical power to a multiple brake light array at the rear of the vehicle. Depending on brake pressure and thus the relative vehicle decelleration one or more brake lights will be illuminated. The system signals to other road users whether a vehicle brake is used as merely speed control or to stop the vehicle.
