<p>A surgical suture made of PVA fibers having a tensile strength of 12 to 25 g/d, an elongation at break of 3.5 to 6% and a knot strength of 4 to 8 g/d is disclosed. The suture has a knot retention of 3 to 8 g/d and exhibits high strength retention in vivo and good biocompatibility.</p> |
