PURPOSE:To stably and efficiently manufacture wire rods by making in bulk the powder of an oxide superconductor including pinning center through a noble metal tube with cold working and sintering process and then forming wire rods. CONSTITUTION:A bulk body composed of an oxide superconductor 1 including pinning center is obtained by mixing the powder of YBa2Cu3Ox and the powder of Y2BaCuOy and, after calcination and then melting the pulverized powder by heating, rapidly cooling it with a copper die (at a normal temperature) and grinding the solidified content and, after heating the pulverized powder at a temperature of 1100 deg.C, slowly cooling it. The powder obtained by grinding the bulk body is filled up in a silver tube 2 and, after the both ends of the silver tube is crimped to be closed, is cold-worked and then rolled through a pinch roller 3 to be made in the shape of a tape. Nextly, the tape wire rods are sintered and then undergo oxygen annealing, so that an oxide superconducting wire is obtained. |
