Compressible bottle made from a material with plastic properties, which bottle has, over a substantial portion of its height, undulations or folds with sharp edges, corresponding to a bellows, in such a manner that the empty bottle can be compressed to a fraction of its original height, the bottom of the bottle 4 being fixed to the bottom of a corresponding open receptacle, the wall of which open receptacle 1 projects upwards at a height corresponding to the desired height of the compressed bottle, a locking device with pretensioning 2, 6 being formed contiguously with the receptacle 1 on the upper edge of the receptacle, and being designed in such a manner that it is moved automatically and radially inwards towards the neck of the bottle when the bottle is compressed inside the receptacle to an extent such that the projection 5 of the bottle is pressed below the locking device which thus holds the compressed bottle 4 inside the receptacle 1. <IMAGE>
