PURPOSE:To make the addition of a fault diagnostic rule efficient by making a relation between a state and a fault place specified in a hypothetic inference into a rule and generating the new fault diagnostic rule. CONSTITUTION:When the fault place cannot be specified in an operation inference part 2 and the fault place can be specified in a hypothetic inference part 3, a rule generation part 7 makes the relation between the state at that time and the fault place specified in hypothetic inference into the rule and generates the new fault diagnostic rule. The candidate of the generalized rule is shown to a user by permitting a generalization support part 8 to resolve the condition part of the rule generated based on the logical history of hypothetic inference. The user selects and corrects the candidate of the indicated generalization rule if necessary and adds it to a knowledge base for fault diagnostic rule 4. Thus, the new fault diagnostic rule obtained from the experience of diagnosis is efficiently generated. |
