Process for removing organic material from industrial effluents such as industrial effluents from crushers, tanneries, textile plants, municipal abattoirs (slaughterhouses), etc. The process consists in adding calcium hydroxide to the effluents and in agitating and then moving on to a settling stage and a filtering stage. The filtrate is colourless and odourless.
