It is preferred that the surfaces to be bonded are coated with the adhesive composition and dried, and the adhesive is reactivated by heat and pressure during bonding. The shoe upper may be of PVC and the sole a thermoplastic block copolymer rubber, an SBR rubber or a crepe rubber. In preferred adhesive compositions, the isocyanate is a commercial polyisocyanate conventionally used in polyurethane formation, the organic bromine donor is dibromodimethyl hydantoin and the organic chlorine donor is trichloroisocyanuric acid. |
