The optical fibre jack-plug connector has a plug pin (2) and a connector body (3) formed of two different materials. The plug pin has a bore in its rear end face receiving the optical fibre core (6). The connector body is fitted over its outer mantle (7, 8). The connector body is made of a thermoplastics material permanently bonded to the plug pin, which pref. has an external anchoring rib (14) embedded in the connector body. The latter and the plug pin are made of compatible materials for rational mfr. ADVANTAGE - Allows low-cost mass prodn.
