摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of chemicals and the electric power for driving a pump by setting the pH of an absorbing liquid and the number of working pumps in accordance with the load of a waste gas to control the supply rate of the absorbing liquid and the number of the working pumps, and adjusting the number of the working pumps from the change in the load of the waste gas and a desulfurization efficiency. CONSTITUTION:The optimum number N of working pumps and the optimum pH for the operation are set by a storage device 21 in accordance with the change of the load l of a waste gas, and controlled by outputting an on-off signal of a pump 8 and a set point signal of pH of a pH controller 12. The desulfurization efficiency eta, which is calculated from the SO2 concns. S1 and SO in the waste gas at the inlet and the outlet by an operating means 22, is compared with the set desulfurization efficiency eta1 by means of a comparing means 23. When eta<eta1, a pump increasing signal nP2 is outputted to a comparing means 24. The changing velocity of the load is calculated by a differentiating means 25, and decided by a deciding means 26. The pump increasing signal nP2 is regarded as effective only when the load is increasing.</p>
