<p>PURPOSE:To reproduce one image element and to obtain a high grade small character image and a half-tone image by means of dither processing by controlling the intensity of a light beam based on the image information of a spot adjacent to the circumference of a recorded light beam spot. CONSTITUTION:The image information of, at least three scanning lines in a sub-scanning direction is stored in storage means 20-22, and the intensity of the light beam is increased or decreased based on the stored contents of the storage means 20-22 by a light intensity control means 23. When a recorded spot is a light irradiation part, and at least, all of the 4-spots of the right and left in the main scanning direction and the front and back in the sub-scanning direction, of the spot, out of the spot adjacent to the recorded spots, is an unirradiated part, the light intensity of the recorded spot is increased. Thus, one image element can be reproduced and the high grade small character image and the half-tone image by the dither processing can be obtained.</p> |
