PURPOSE:To provide a recording material excellent in ink absorbability and blocking resistance and extremely reduced in curl quantity by making the absorbability of aqueous ink of the uppermost layer of the ink receiving layer on a base material higher than that of the lower ink absorbing layer thereof. CONSTITUTION:An ink receiving layer consisting of a plurality of the ink absorbing layers on a light-pervious base material and the aqueous ink absorbability of the uppermost layers of the ink absorbing layers is made higher than that of the other layer. As the material used in the other layer, one having high mechanical strength and holding the same even after the absorption of aqueous ink, for example, polyvinyl alcohol can be used. The other layer is formed on the base material and the ink layer being the uppermost layer is further formed thereon. As the material excellent in aqueous ink absorbability used in the uppermost layer, a water-soluble resin such as polyvinyl pyrrolidone is designated. By this method, a recording material excellent in ink absorbability and blocking resistance and extremely reduced in curl quantity and imparting a recording image stable under a high humidity or long-term preserving condition is obtained. |
