PURPOSE:To obtain a reaction-coupled silicon carbide composite material having low Young's modulus so that, when this composite material is used as a sliding member and foreign matter intrudes to the sliding surface, this composite material prevents damages of the other sliding member, by dispersing TiN in a SiC-Si matrix composite body. CONSTITUTION:TiN is dispersed in the SiC-Si matrix composite body. It is preferable that TiN is incorporated by 5-40vol.% to the SiC-Si matrix composite body except for Si. |
