PURPOSE:To stably prepare a thermal recording material having high sensitivity, excellent in preservability and having high whiteness by preparing a dye precursor dispersion by dispersing a specific dye precursor, a specific compound and at least one kind of wax. CONSTITUTION:A dye precursor dispersion is prepared by dispersing a dye precursor based on 2-anilino-3-methyl-6-(N-ethyl-ethoxypropylamino) fluorane, compounds represented by general formulae (I), (II) and at least one kind of wax until a mean particle size becomes 1.2mum or less. This dye precursor dispersion is mixed with a developer dispersion containing an electron acceptive developing compound subjected to the contact reaction with a color forming dye precursor under heating to develop a color to prepare a coating solution for thermal recording and this coating solution is applied to the surface of a sheet-like support and solidified to form a thermal color forming layer. By this method, a thermal recording material having high sensitivity, excellent in preservability and having high whiteness can be stably prepared. |
