MANUFACTURE OF ARTIFICIAL STONE USING ELECTRIC FURNACE SLAG AS RAW MATERIAL

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain an artificial stone excellent in bending strength, hardness and heat resistance by adding plural specified materials to molten slag in an oxidizing period including iron oxide as compositional components among electric furnace slag generated in the stage of steel-making by an electric furnace, executing cooling under prescribed conditions and solidifying it. CONSTITUTION:A reducing agent such as Al is added to molten slag in an oxidizing period including iron oxide as compositional components among electric furnace slag generated in the stage of steel-making by an electric furnace. SiO2 is added to the molten modified slag from which iron oxide has been separated by the addition of the reducing agent, and then, this molten modified slag is cooled while it is gradually cooled at the transformation temp. of the above slag and is solidified.
