PURPOSE:To allow software to detect the occurrence of performance deterioration by storing a means for comparing the average value of the number of instructions practically executed in a unit time with the allowable minimum number of instructions to be executed within a previously specified unit time and generating an interruption when the required condition is not satisfied in a central processing unit(CPU). CONSTITUTION:The CPU includes a counting means 30 for counting up instructions executed within a unit time, a mean value computing means 36 for finding out the mean value of plural count values counted up by the means 30 within plural unit time values, a storage means for storing the allowable minimum number of instructions to be executed within a unit time specified by software, and a comparing/reporting means 32 for comparing the average number of instructions executed within the unit time obtained by the means 36 with the number of instructions set up in the means 31, and when the former value is smaller, informing an interruption to the software. Consequently, the software can know the occurrence of performance reduction. |
