PURPOSE:To raise the visuability of road display even at night or in rainy day by a method in which glass beads are coated with fluororesin for providing it with water repellency and forming air layer between the glass bead and water in order to obtain a reflexive reflecting light. CONSTITUTION:Glass beads 2 are dipped in a liquid fluororesin with a solvent or the beads 2 are sprayed with the fluororesin to form coating 3 of a thickness of 0.005-0.001mm on the surfaces of the beads 2. The glass beads 2 are used for a road sign material composed of 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin, 40-70 pts.wt. titanium oxide, 310-420 pts.wt. aggregate, and 90-140 pts.wt. glass bead. A paste of the road sign material is applied to the surface of road, Since the air layer 4 is formed between the beads 2 and water, reflexive reflecting light can be obtained to make the road sign visible even in rainy day. |
