摘要 PURPOSE:To increase an interval between an array optical element and an array optical fiber with high coupling efficiency, to easily attain the airtight sealing of the element and to obtain high reliability by a simple constitution by collectively and optically coupling the optical element and the optical fiber by means of a lens system arranged on a single optical axis. CONSTITUTION:In order to obtain an optical array transmitter, a light emitting array LED 1 is airtightly sealed in a package 2 at first. On the other hand, the tip of a multi-mode array optical fibers 4 is fixed to a ferrule 5. A lens 6 is arranged on the optical axis connecting the array LED 1 and the fibers 4, the unmagnification image of the array LED 1 is formed and output beams from respective elements of the array LED 1 are inputted to respective fibers of the array fibers 4. In order to obtain an optical array receiver, a pin--array PD 7 is airtightly sealed in a package 8 at first. On the other hand, the tip of the fiber 4 is fixed to the ferrule 5. A lens 10 is arranged on the optical axis connecting the PD 7 and the fiber 4, the unmagnification image of the fiber 4 is formed and beams projected from respective cores of the array fibers 4 are inputted to respective elements of the pin-array PD 7.
