There is described a submersible cage system for cultivating aquatic animals comprising a rigid frame (2) defining a geodesic enclosure, a net (20) supported by the rigid frame (2) to define a water permeable enclosure for the aquatic animals, means for supporting said rigid frame (2) for rotation about a horizontal axis (10), flotation chambers (25) disposed at opposite sides of the rigid frame (2), the flotation chambers (25) being alternately fillable with a gas or a liquid to increase or decrease, respectively, the cage system's buoyancy, and means for anchoring the frame (2) in a fixed position in a marine environment. |
