The printer unit includes a decoder (12), an A/D converting section (14), a picture memory (16) and a recorder (28). Further, a memory selecting section (34) selects the number of pictures to be printed in a single sheet of paper, and a sampling control section (32) outputs sampling pulses to the A/D converting section (14), so that video data for the required number of pictures can be stored in the picture memory (16). A memory control section (30) outputs sampling control signals to the sampling control section (32), and supplies write addresses to the picture memory (32). The invention expands the function of the printer.
