Supercharged IC engine has a thermostat which regulates the revolutions of a cooling air blower dependent on the exhaust gas temp. The thermostat (16) simultaneously controls an exhaust flap for a supercharged air heated device (4) operating with an exhaust and a slider for the return of the exhaust gas to the air used for supercharging and in the case of exceeding a chosen max. temp. of the exhaust gas a valve for addition of water to the supercharged air. The exhaust flap is at the same time formed as an exhaust brake flap. The thermostat (16) is fitted with a pipe or rod shaped flexible link used as a temp sensor.
