PURPOSE:To execute the retrieval processing of a dictionary at a high speed by operating independently a reading-out means, a detecting means and a discriminating means, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A reading-out means 121 designates the inputted reference signal first and executes a read-out operation from an index 111, and thereafter, executes a read-out operation from a list 112 by designating the reference num ber read out of a dictionary 110, and a detecting means 122 detects a character for coinciding with an input character from in the characters read out of he dictionary, and outputs a result of this detection as a result of retrieval. A discriminating means 123 discriminates whether the reference number is contained in an output from the dictionary 110 or not, and outputs a result of decision as a result of retrieval. Also, the reading-out means 121, the detecting means 122 and the discriminating means 123 execute an independent operation, respectively. In such a way, the retrieval processing of the dictionary 110 can be executed at a high speed. |
