PURPOSE:To prevent the sticking of dust by providing a surface protective layer consisting of a specific thermosetting resin on the surface of a substrate on the side opposite from the side where a recording layer is provided in a specific surface condition. CONSTITUTION:The surface protective layer 7 contg. the silicon thermosetting resin as its constituting component is provided on the surface of the substrate 1 on the side opposite from the surface where the recording layer 2 is provided in such a manner that the surface state thereof attains >=75 deg. contact angle thetawith water and <=80 deg. slip angle of dust. The hydrolyzate of organoalkoxysilane or the partial condensate thereof is used as the hard coat material of the silicon thermosetting resin used for the surface protective layer 7. The optical recording medium which lessens the adhesion of the dust, dirt, etc., on the surface of the substrate 1 is obtd. in this way without deteriorating the recording layer 2. |
